Solstice Spiral

  • Field Temple 5333 Elmwood Street Detroit, MI, 48211 United States (map)

Field Temple will host its sixth annual Solstice Spiral, a chance to quietly and simply mark the turning of the year. A solstice spiral works like this- When you are ready, you walk the spiral made of straw bales, carrying an unlit lantern. When you reach the center, there is a lit candle. You light your lantern, and start moving on the path out.  Along the way, you place your lantern. After a time, the spiral itself is illuminated from the lanterns placed along it. Together we notice the light growing, together we notice the fruit of so many going to the center and kindling light.

Please dress for the weather, as we will be outside.
